2nd album selling at ROUGH TRADE RECORDS (London)
On July 19, 2010
The second album, DOWN UP DOWN, is now selling at one of the coolest record shops I've ever seen. (I used to live in Nashville so this is a huge compliment).  It's in the heart of Brick Lane/Shoredhitch.  So pick up a cd at Rough Trade, look around at the many trendy clothing shops and maybe pop into one of the famous curry houses in the neighborhood. It should be a really good day out.

Three festivals for Don't Shoot Video
On June 26, 2010
So far it's been three festival screenings  for Don't Shoot music video directed by Polis Loizou.

-We The Peoples Film Festival
-London Independent Film Festival
-Crystal Palace International Film Festival

I think this achievement is solely down to Polis Loizou's genius. He has a way of finding out exactly what the song is about, what the artist is trying to say and he presents the music in such an effortless and beautiful way. I feel honoured to be even working with him.

He is currently working on a music video for "Safe Place For Us" using watercoloured cut outs which he will animate to give the child-like quality that the video needs. I have seen parts of the story board and some of the designs and i am overjoyed with excitement and anticipation. It will be a really beautiful music video that will fit perfectly with the song.

I get weepy every time I hear this song so will buy lots of tissues for the music video.

Watch this space and keep a look out for this talented film maker.

Second album "Down Up Down" is finished
On June 23, 2010
The second album has two versions. The cd version has 11tracks including track 8 called Korean Interlude. The itunes/amazon version doesn't have this track.

The artwork was done by Polis Loizou and Jaacq Hugo.

Here is the back of the cd.
Back.jpg

The cd itself has an image of bibambap which is one of my favourite korean foods next to bulgogi and of course kimchi! There is much more of an Asian theme to this album. Perhaps I'm going back to my roots; where my journey first began.

Do keep a look out for the amazing music videos that are coming your way. I hope to do a video for most of the second album.  I've got a youtube channel called "kinzlimusic"

Be truly independent and start your own record label
On October 5, 2008

AIM (Association of Independent Music) have created a useful PDF with tips on how to open your own record label. As you've heard in the media, many signed artists are unhappy with their current labels, due to the lack of control and unfair percentage cuts, and are now opting out to start their own. You can find AIM on myspace. They're one of my top friends in www.myspace.com/polkadotrecords.
